My Story
Hello! I’m Mark Newman. I live in Winter Garden, Florida with my wife, Laura. We have 3 sons, a grandson and a granddaughter. I love Jesus, my family, and my country, the good old United States of America!
It All Started with a Flag began in my home garage when I was furloughed from the Walt Disney Company in April of 2020.
I started making hand crafted wooden USA flags as a hobby to fill my time and they quickly became popular with family and friends.
When I was given the devastating news of being officially laid off in September 2020 after 23 years of service to the Walt Disney Company, it was time to make lemonade out of life’s lemons. I took my hobby to a new level and began offering my hand crafted flag selection to include a new size and many designs like the Thin Line flags to honor our front line hero’s and all six military branches.
What makes my flag so special? I personally make each flag from start to finish. They are made from solid premium American pine, hand crafted, cut to size, stained, carved, torched and sealed. The stars, stripes and in some special flags are carved and painted for additional details and a 3D effect.
